Established in 1959
as one of the first Indian Institutes of Technology, the institute was created
with the assistance of a consortium of nine leading US research universities as
part of the Kanpur Indo-American Programme (KIAP).

University (formerly the Delhi College of Engineering, is strongly identified
with engineering education in India.

IT-BHU
became Indian Institute of Technology and students admitted to the institute
after 2006-2007 are awarded IIT degrees.
7 S.R.M. Engineering College
Previously
functioning under Anna University, as SRM Engineering College, the institute
gained deemed status in 2003-04, and was renamed SRMIST (SRM Institute of
Science and Technology) and then eventually called SRM University.
8 National Institute of Technology Karnataka

National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, is an autonomous
university. It was founded in July 1960 as a joint venture between the
Government of Karnataka and the Government of India, under the name Karnataka
Regional Engineering College (KREC), Surathkal. Today, it is one of 18 National
